This one was really explicit about it but there are references like this in almost every episode.
There's a part in the dungeon where Finn is confronted by some demonic cat guardian monster who calls him "Jim the Human". "How did you *almost* know my name?" "Oh, I have approximate knowledge of many things." Cracked me up.
"I'm in my element!"
